Welcome To Codroy Valley

Codroy Valley is tucked away on the South West corner of Newfoundland, sheltered by the Long Range Mountains.  We are located just a half an hour drive north of Port Aux Basques. (Route 406) Codroy Valley is a picturesque landscape of lush green farmlands overlooking rugged hills.   

The Codroy Valley is birders paradise.  The Grand Codroy Estuary Ramsar Site is located at the mouth of the Grand Codroy River is a  925-hectare area recognized by the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance. This is a stopover for migrating fowl, and a landing place for rare species occasionally blown off course. It has a large raptor population in the fall and you will have the opportunity to see many different species of song birds than anywhere else in the province. 

History

Our property was well knows as "Gillis' Cabins" for over 50 years. The property once belonged to Mr. & Mrs. Alfred Gillis who built the original cabins in the early 1950's. In 2001 new owners purchased the business and changed the Name to "Codroy Valley Cottage Country". The business was sold to us in 2003 and we kept the name.  Since taking ownership in 2003 the cottages have been rebuilt and/or completely renovated with many upgrades to the buildings and property.  

Our property is overlooking the Grand Codroy River with views of the Long Range Mountains. Onsite we have a playground area for the children, beach area for fires and laundromat facilities.
